As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of coffee machines, Nespresso has produced a wide variety of coffee machines and espresso brewers to fulfill the needs of coffee lovers all over the world. In the following article, we will discuss the comparisons between two popular Nespresso models, which are the Vertuo Plus and the Evoluo. These two models are sold in the same price range, and they are both known to produce hot, hot coffee. So, what are the differences between Nespresso Vertuo Plus vs Evoluo?
Design and Dimensions
Nespresso Vertuo Plus is actually slimmer, but it is also taller and longer. It measures 14.22 cm wide, 42.34 cm deep, and 32.51 cm tall. If your countertop does not have much room, the Vertuo Plus can fit more easily, especially because you can place the water tank on the rear, left, or right of the machine. It allows you to use the space on your countertop more efficiently. This model is available in more color choices, such as black, gray, white, and red.
On the other hand, Nespresso Evoluo is smaller but wider. It measures 20 cm wide, 31.05 cm deep, and 31.32 cm tall. It needs more surface area. There are only three color choices for the Evoluo, which are black, red, and gray.
Nespresso Vertuo Plus has a removable 40-oz water tank, and it works with the Nespresso Vertuo capsules. It can give you espresso and coffee drinks. You won’t have to open the lid of the capsule manually because it has an automatic opener. It can adjust the brewing parameters automatically by reading the bar code on the capsule. There is an adjustable cup holder on the front, which is very convenient.
On the other hand, Nespresso Evoluo comes with a removable 54-oz water tank. The larger capacity means that you will refill a little less frequently. Just like the Vertuo Plus, the Evoluo is able to brew both espresso and coffee drinks from the compatible capsules. It automatically recognizes the capsule and adjusts its settings. However, this model does not work with a pressure pump; instead, it works with the Centrifusion technology which spins the capsule to extract the espresso or coffee. On the front, there is a removable and foldable drip tray.
There is an important difference between Nespresso Vertuo Plus vs Evoluo regarding the performance. They are both fast, able to deliver your shot within 15 – 20 seconds. However, Nespresso Vertuo Plus tends to produce hotter results. Most people enjoy their coffee between 120F and 150F; temperatures above 155F are uncomfortable and may cause tissue damage. This model usually produces drinks between 145F – 159F. You should wait a few minutes or add some milk/cream before you drink the coffee.
Nespresso Evoluo tends to produce warm coffee, but not as hot as the Vertuo Plus. This is a good thing if you want to drink your caffeine right away without waiting it to cool down.

Both the Vertuo Plus and the Evoluo are good coffee machines. You can choose the Vertuo Plus if you can benefit from the flexible water tank placement or if you prefer hot, hot coffee. Otherwise, you may want to choose the Evoluo due to the larger water tank. The Centrifusion system delivers warm coffee, but not as hot as the Vertuo Plus.
