After some time, we finally come to a duel between a Nespresso machine and a Starbucks machine. Both Nespresso and Starbucks are great names in the coffee and espresso industry so that we can expect great quality and features on both machines. Pixie is known as one of the cheapest Nespresso machines – which are mostly specialized as espresso makers – that comes with great performance. Meanwhile, Verismo is Starbuck’s answer for the need of a budget-friendly combo coffee-espresso maker. Which one of them is the better product? This is very interesting! See : Nespresso CitiZ Vs Pixie.
Pixie serves only espresso and lungo. It comes in US$ 229, and if you want to make cappuccino or lattes with the machine, you need to add another US$ 50 in order to get Aeroccino Plus (a Nespresso milk frother) installed. It still uses the traditional but trusted 19-bar pressure pump (it is not using the Centrifusion technology like the new VertuoLine, if you are not precisely familiar in this field). It takes 30 seconds for pre-heating. The removable water tank has a capacity of 0.7 L. Nespresso Pixie features an LED water level indicator and an automatic shut-down after 9 minutes of inactivity.
Verismo is a single cup coffee and espresso maker, so you don’t need to spend extra expenses to make milk-based coffees here. Its price varies slightly above a hundred bucks. It also uses a 19-bar pressure pump, but only takes 15 seconds for pre-heating. Its removable water tank’s capacity is 1 L, a little bigger than Pixie’s. But, you need to regulate the amount of water on each shot manually here, as opposed to Pixie’s auto shot delivery, which can be either good or bad depending on your preference. On the bright side, you can adjust the richness of each shot yourself, but on the dark side, the process takes some more time. Starbucks Verismo is also bigger and heavier than Nespresso Pixie, so it is less suitable for travel than its contender.

Starbucks Verismo offers more feats than Nespresso Pixie. It works faster, it can readily make coffees as well as espressos, and its reservoir is larger. Therefore, Starbucks Verismo is the winner here.
